About Me

Hello, I’m Fiona, your Clinical Reflexologist in Stirling

My passion for reflexology comes from my own experience of discovering the importance of taking time to pause, recharge and care for yourself. I understand how easily self-care can slip to the bottom of the list when life is busy. As a working mum of three, I know how many responsibilities we often juggle between work, family and everyday commitments, and how valuable it can be to have dedicated time just for you.

My Training & Experience

I trained with the Complementary Therapy School and was awarded the Practitioner Diploma in Clinical Reflexology with Distinction. This qualification is credit-rated by the University of the West of Scotland at SCQF Level 8, the highest level of reflexology qualification available in Scotland.

I am fully insured and a proud Full Member of the Association of Reflexologists (AoR), ensuring my practice meets professional standards within the reflexology profession.

Since learning reflexology, I have provided over 100 clinical treatments to clients ranging from babies to those over 90 years old. Every person is unique, and I take the time to understand your current health, individual needs, preferences and wellbeing goals, allowing each reflexology session to be tailored specifically to you.

You can read some of my clients’ experiences and what they have gained from their treatments on my Client Reviews page.

Why I Chose Reflexology

My own journey with reflexology began during a particularly challenging time in my life. Before the birth of my third child, I experienced the emotional impact of pregnancy loss alongside several family bereavements. During this period, I discovered the importance of taking time to pause, care for myself and find moments of calm amongst life’s challenges.

Reflexology became a meaningful part of that journey. I experienced first-hand the value of having dedicated time to relax, switch off and focus on my own wellbeing. This inspired me to learn more about reflexology and eventually train professionally, so I could offer others the same opportunity to take time for themselves.

As a keen runner, I have also found reflexology to be a valuable addition to my own wellbeing and recovery routine. It has reinforced my belief in the importance of caring for both body and mind, whether through movement, relaxation or simply creating time to pause.

My Approach

At Firgrove Therapies, relaxation is at the heart of every treatment. My aim is to create a calm, nurturing environment where you can feel comfortable, cared for and able to fully switch off.

Every appointment begins with a consultation, allowing me to understand how you are feeling and what you would like to gain from your session. Your treatment is then personalised around your individual needs on that day.

Whether you are looking for time to relax, support your wellbeing, manage everyday stress or simply enjoy some dedicated time for yourself, I will provide a warm and welcoming experience tailored to you.

My treatment room has been designed as a peaceful retreat from the busyness of everyday life — a comfortable space where you can slow down, breathe and focus on yourself.

Welcome to Firgrove Therapies

Frequently Asked Questions

Reflexology uses gentle but purposeful pressure on specific areas of the feet rather than light touch, which usually helps reduce the ticklish sensation. You may notice different sensations in certain areas, but the treatment should always feel comfortable and relaxing.

If you do have particularly ticklish feet, please don’t let that put you off. I’ll adapt the pressure to your comfort and encourage you to let me know if anything feels uncomfortable during your treatment.  Previous ticklish clients have been pleasantly surprised at how untickly treatment is. My aim is for you to feel relaxed and at ease throughout your appointment.

Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to fully relax during your treatment. Reflexology is carried out on your feet, ankles and lower legs, so you’ll only need to remove your shoes and socks or tights. If possible, please wear trousers or leggings that can be rolled up comfortably above the ankles, ideally to mid-calf

Reflexology is generally considered a safe complementary therapy for most people, including adults, older adults, children and during pregnancy when provided by a suitably trained reflexologist. It is also used in some palliative care settings as supportive therapy.

However, reflexology may not be appropriate in certain circumstances, or treatment may need to be adapted. These include:

Open wounds, ulcers or infections affecting the feet

Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)

Acute gout affecting the feet

Recent foot injuries or fractures

Certain circulatory conditions or other medical conditions where caution is advised

If you have a medical condition, are receiving treatment from a healthcare professional, or have any concerns about whether reflexology is suitable for you, please get in touch with me before booking. In some cases, I may advise you to seek guidance from your GP or another member of your healthcare team before treatment.

Everyone’s experience of reflexology is different, so it’s not possible to predict exactly how you might feel after a treatment. Many people tell me they feel deeply relaxed, sleep better, or notice an improved sense of wellbeing afterwards. Reflexology can be a wonderfully calming experience, and relaxation itself can have a positive impact on both physical and emotional wellbeing.

As a complementary therapy, reflexology may provide a valuable opportunity to relax and take time for yourself. Many people living with long-term health conditions also choose to include reflexology alongside their conventional medical care as part of their overall wellbeing routine.

The best way to discover whether reflexology is right for you is to experience it for yourself. If you have any questions before booking, I’d be happy to discuss what you can expect from a treatment.

There isn’t a set number of sessions – it depends on your individual needs and goals. If you’re seeking reflexology to support your overall wellbeing or alongside a specific health concern, I may recommend an initial course of 5–6 treatments, usually weekly or fortnightly, before reviewing your progress.

Many clients also choose to have monthly treatments simply to relax, unwind and support their general wellbeing. During your first appointment, we’ll discuss a treatment plan that’s tailored to you.

Due to the accumulative benefits of regular reflexology treatments I offer a block booking option where you can book a book of 5 treatments for £200 saving £25.  If this is something that interests you please get in touch or mention it at your first session where additional sessions can be arranged.

I offer a range of convenient payment options. You can pay by credit or debit card when booking your appointment online, or choose to pay at your appointment using card, cash or bank transfer.

If you have a healthcare cash plan with Benenden Health, BHSF, Bupa, Health Shield, Hive Insurance Services, HMCA, Medicash, Paycare, Simplyhealth, Sovereign Health Care, UK Healthcare or Westfield Health, you may be able to claim back the cost of your reflexology treatment. Please check the terms of your individual policy to confirm your level of cover and how to make a claim
